Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Network & Security Engineer.

In this role, the successful candidate Reporting to the Director Delivery Centers, the Senior Network & Security Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the design and implementation of network and security solutions. The Senior Network & Security Engineer is responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd level support for all network and security issues or outages.

Ensures the smooth operation of the network infrastructure to provide maximum security, performance, and availability. Maintains close vendor relationships to support current technology solutions and offer roadmap strategies for all network and security systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop security solutions designs using approved Network Security Systems Firewalls, IDS/IPS, F5, NBA, Privileged Access.
  • Provide daily operational and implementation support for all Network and Security Systems.
  • Capacity planning of network and security system resources to support the continuous growth of the enterprise.
  • Secure external facing web applications utilizing F5s Application Security Manager protecting the client infrastructure against layer 7 DDoS, cross-site scripting, SQL injection, session hijacking, forceful browsing, cross-site request forgery, parameter and HPP tampering, cookie manipulation, and many other web security threats.
  • Systems Engineering and Management support for all Application Security Development systems, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, load balancers, and VPN Gateways.
  • Must be well-versed in routing & switching, including all Cisco Catalyst & Nexus switches 2000, 3000, 5000, 7000, and 9000.
  • Must have experience in Cisco ISE and enterprise wireless architecture like Cisco Wireless Lan Controller, Aruba.
  • Experience with Cisco ACI and cloud networking is a huge plus.
  • Experience with Network Automation like Python, Ansible is a huge plus.
  • Through the use of Network behavior analysis tools, Application Security Development continuously monitors the network for various security threats.
  • Provides strategic support for application security development equipment, configuration services, installation, and enhancements to meet the business requirements.
  • Provides written Root Cause Analysis for system outages.
  • Must be very proficient in English written and verbal communication. Must be detail-oriented.
     

Additional Position-Specific Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain and monitor extensive Firewall and F5 environments per hospital standards.
  • Implement and support multi-vendor Firewall platforms featuring Palo Alto series Firewalls and Cisco ASA.
  • Daily Maintenance and checks of all Firewall and F5-related equipment.
  • Maintain and organize reporting information and documentation for Management review
  • Maintain high to detailed levels of documentation as required for all Palo Alto and F5 environments.
  • Perform routine maintenance functions for all systems, including OS upgrades, hardware fixes, etc.
  • Provide second and third-level support for all Firewall, Network, and F5 systems.
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify the cause of an issue and determine a solution.
  • Ability to focus, manage your time and work, and get things done quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly.
  • Experience and desire to work in a team environment with other engineers.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least seven years working with Network Firewalls / Palo Alto NGFW experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the following technology platforms: F5 Enterprise Manager (EM), Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cisco FTD, Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, SDWAN, CyberArk
  • Qualified candidates must effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
